ASM Leviasynth Desktop – Algorithmic Hybrid Synth with Analog Character
The ASM Leviasynth® is an advanced 16-voice algorithmic synthesizer featuring a hybrid digital/analog signal path, developed for deep sound design in both studio and live environments. The Desktop version replaces the keyboard with 16 Polytouch® pads, delivering the same powerful engine in a compact format.
Sound Engine and Synthesis Architecture
The Leviasynth is built on an entirely new hybrid engine with eight oscillators per voice and over 300 waveforms. Seven synthesis types—including Phase Modulation, Linear FM, Pulse Width Modulation, HTE Sync, and three variants of Phase Distortion—are organized via over 140 algorithms or user-defined structures. Algorithm Morphing enables seamless modulation between multiple algorithms in real-time.
Following the digital filtering, the sound is further shaped through an analog pre-gain stage and a true analog 4-pole low-pass filter, providing a distinct combination of precision and warmth.
Filters, Modulation, and Voice Dynamics
The digital filter section offers 18 filter models, including morphing filters and vocal filters. The modulation system comprises 13 DAHDSR envelopes, 5 LFOs, and an extensive modulation matrix with a vast array of sources and destinations.
Each oscillator features its own envelope and voice modulation. Additionally, voices can be paired in binaural stereo mode with separate modulation for the carrier and modulator. Features such as Vintage mode, Analog Feel, and bit-depth control allow for shaping everything from pristine to heavily colored sounds.
Performance, Sequencing, and Effects
The Leviasynth Desktop is equipped with 16 Polytouch® pads featuring polyphonic aftertouch and multiple pad modes for scales, sequencing, and performance control. A color touchscreen provides rapid access to editing, filters, envelopes, and effects.
The built-in arpeggiator offers eight modes with functions such as Ratchet, Probability, and Entropy, while the three-channel sequencer handles two note tracks and one macro automation track. Four simultaneous effect processors per part provide access to modulation effects, distortions, delays, and reverbs.
Connectivity and Patch Management
Leviasynth offers comprehensive connectivity via MIDI DIN and USB, balanced audio outputs, a headphone output, and CV/Gate with both modulation inputs and outputs. The ASM Manager software is used for patch management, backups, and system updates.
