ASM Leviasynth® Keyboard – 61-Key Hybrid Synth with Polyphonic Aftertouch
The ASM Leviasynth® Keyboard is a 16-voice algorithmic synthesizer featuring a hybrid digital/analog signal path, designed with a focus on expression and deep sound design. The keyboard version combines a rugged metal construction with a semi-weighted 61-key Polytouch® keybed featuring polyphonic aftertouch, offering a comprehensive synthesis engine for both studio and stage.
Sound Generation with 8 Oscillators and Algorithmic Synthesis
The Leviasynth is built on a new hybrid engine with eight oscillators per voice and over 300 waveforms. Synthesis types include Phase Modulation (PM), Frequency Modulation (FM), Pulse Width Modulation (PW), HTE Sync, and three variants of Phase Distortion. Oscillators and synthesis types can be organized via over 140 preset algorithms, while the Custom Algorithm mode allows users to create and save their own routings within the patch.
Algorithm Morphing enables the selection of up to eight algorithms, which can be arranged and smoothly modulated between as part of sound design and performance.
Hybrid Filtering: Digital Precision and Analog Shaping
The signal passes through a digital filter section featuring 18 filter models—including morphing multimode and vocal filters—as well as digital drive and morphing functions. The signal is then shaped by an analog, variable pre-drive circuit before reaching a pure analog 4-pole resonant low-pass filter. This signal path combines intricate detail with a distinct analog character.
Modulation and Voice Behavior
The modulation system is built for movement and variation, featuring 13 DAHDSR envelopes, 5 LFOs, and a 32-slot modulation matrix. Each oscillator has its own 6-stage DAHDSR envelope with features such as looping, BPM sync, multiple trigger sources, and quantization. The LFOs offer various waveforms including sample & hold, noise, and a Step LFO mode for step sequencing or custom waveforms.
VoiceMod enables per-voice offsets that can be used as a modulation source. Additionally, there are 8 macros per part, each with 8 individually assignable sources for rapid control. The Polytouch® keybed features dedicated routings within the engine for direct, per-note modulation.
Performance: Polytouch®, Ribbon, and Wheels
The keyboard version features an enhanced semi-weighted 61-key Polytouch® keybed with polyphonic aftertouch and velocity sensitivity for both note-on and note-off. A 4-octave ribbon controller offers multiple expressive modes, while illuminated pitch and modulation wheels provide clear, tactile control for live use.
Sequencer, Arpeggiator, and Effects
Leviasynth features an arpeggiator with eight modes and functions such as Ratchet, Chance, and Entropy Shuffle. The built-in 3-track sequencer includes two polyphonic note tracks and one track for macro automation, with up to 128 steps per track. Four effect processors per part can be used simultaneously, with 18 digital effects. The reverb section offers up to 90 seconds of decay and a Freeze function.

FAQ
- What does hybrid digital/analog synthesis mean?
- The sound generation and digital filter section are combined with analog pre-drive and a pure analog 4-pole low-pass filter in the signal path.
- How does algorithm morphing work?
- You can select up to eight algorithms, arrange them, and smoothly modulate between them to change the routing and character of the oscillators in real-time.
