TG D71 – Boundary Microphone for Kick Drums, Cajóns and Grand Pianos
For Stage, Studio and Rehearsal
The TG D71 is a boundary microphone with a semi-cardioid polar pattern, developed to capture powerful and natural sound from percussion instruments. Its flat and compact design makes it easy to place directly on kick drums, cajóns or grand pianos without the need for a stand. The rubberised underside ensures that the microphone stays securely in place during use.
Designed for High Sound Pressure
The capsule is built to handle extremely high sound levels – up to 148 dB – without compromising detail or dynamics. This makes the microphone especially suitable for instruments with strong transients, such as bass drums and hand percussion.
Thoughtful Construction
The housing is made from a durable material that withstands the rigours of touring and transport. A red LED on the top indicates active phantom power, and a mounting fixture on the underside allows for fixed installation. The microphone is supplied with a protective pouch.
Acoustic Channeling Technology
To ensure a controlled and consistent sound profile, the TG D71 features Sound Channelling Technology – an internal system of acoustic channels and damping elements that contribute to the microphone's polar response and frequency characteristics.
