Tube-Based Rackmount Guitar Preamp with Four Channels
The E530 is a versatile tube preamp in rack format, offering four separate channels in just one rack unit. Each main channel – Clean and Lead – features both Lo and Hi Gain modes, providing a total of four tonal options: Clean, Crunch, Soft Lead, and Heavy Lead. Each channel has its own EQ section, and the Lead channels are equipped with separate controls for low and high mids.
An integrated 1.5-watt stereo power amp allows for direct practicing, recording, or headphone use without the need for an external power amp. For full-scale operation, the preamp offers stereo outputs—both compensated and uncompensated—suitable for PA systems or recording interfaces. A switchable line level boost of up to 15 dB is available when needed.
Sound Options and Connectivity
The E530 includes sound-shaping features such as Bright and Contour switches, as well as Lo/Hi gain selection. A stereo serial effects loop enables easy integration of external effects. Control is handled via the front panel or an external footswitch.
Construction and Tube Configuration
This all-tube preamp is powered by two Engl ECC83/12AX7 tubes. It fits into a 19" rack in 1U format and weighs just 4 kg, making it easy to use both live and in studio environments.
