Tube Amplifier Head with Studio Roots in Los Angeles
The Artist Edition 100 E651 is a tube amplifier head originally developed as a modified version of the E650 and first used as a prototype in Los Angeles. Initially designed for guitarist Doug Aldrich in 2005, it quickly circulated between various studios and was played by several well-known musicians before officially becoming part of the ENGL lineup.
Background and Construction
Based on the E650 model, this version features EL34 tubes in the power section to deliver a distinct dynamic range and tonal character. It includes four channels—from clean tones to high gain—and practical features such as a tube-buffered FX loop, noise gate, and full control via ENGL footswitches.
Applications
The Artist Edition 100 is suitable for both stage and studio use. With its four channels and extensive EQ and effect options, it is designed for versatile sound shaping across different musical genres.
