Novation Launch Control is a compact and portable MIDI control surface designed to integrate with major DAWs, software synths, effects and external hardware. Connect via USB or MIDI I/O and adjust parameters using 16 endless rotary encoders, eight assignable buttons and a clear OLED display for essential information.

Overview and features

Launch Control is designed to provide hands-on control of your mix, plug-ins and hardware parameters without constantly switching focus in your computer. You can create up to seven Custom Modes to build a control layout that fits your workflow in the studio or on stage.

Encoders, buttons and visual feedback

The 16 endless encoders feature individual RGB LED indicators showing relative parameter values, making it easy to control pan, sends and other adjustable parameters. The OLED display provides key information such as track names and custom values. Holding Shift while turning an encoder allows you to view the current value without changing the assigned parameter. The eight colour-coded assignable buttons can be linked to track focus and functions such as solo, mute and arm, or assigned to MIDI notes, CC messages, program changes, keystrokes and more.

Connectivity and integration

Launch Control connects via USB-C and also features 5-pin MIDI In, MIDI Out and MIDI Out2/Thru connections, allowing MIDI routing and merging between computers and external hardware. Dedicated DAW scripts are available for Ableton Live 12 or later, Logic Pro 11 or later and Cubase 12 or later, with additional support for FL Studio and Bitwig. Other DAWs can be controlled using the HUI protocol.
