Ibanez SRMS806-DTW – Bass Workshop 6-String Multi-Scale Electric Bass

The SRMS806-DTW is a 6-string electric bass from the Ibanez Bass Workshop series, featuring fanned frets, also known as a multi-scale fingerboard. Each string has its own scale length, providing optimized string tension for both low and high notes. Low strings deliver stable tones and depth, while high strings maintain playability and clarity. The multi-scale design also improves overall playing comfort.

Neck and Fingerboard

The neck is a 5-piece construction of jatoba and walnut with a bound panga panga fingerboard and acrylic special inlays. It has 24 medium frets and a 400 mm radius. Scale lengths vary from 901.7 mm (35.5") on the lowest string to 854 mm (33.6") on the highest string. The neck measures 54 mm at the nut and 83 mm at the last fret, with a thickness of 19.5 mm at the first fret and 23 mm at the 12th fret.

Electronics

The bass is equipped with passive Bartolini BH2 pickups at both the neck and bridge positions. An Ibanez Custom 3-band EQ system is integrated, featuring an EQ bypass switch and a 3-position mid-frequency switch.

Bridge and Strings

The bridge is an Ibanez Mono-Rail V, isolating each string’s vibration for cleaner tones and longer sustain. It also provides extended adjustment options for intonation and overall setup. Strings are sized .032/.045/.065/.080/.100/.130.

Body

The body is made of okoume with a poplar burl top.
