Ibanez SRD900F-BTL – Fretless Electric Bass

The SRD900F-BTL is a fretless electric bass from Ibanez Bass Workshop, a division focused on developing new bass concepts under the motto "From Concept To Reality." The bass is based on the SR series but features body chambers that affect weight and resonance.

Construction and Materials

The body is made of Okoume with an Exotic Maple top and features a slight bevel on the upper side for easier access. The fretless fingerboard is made of Panga Panga, with top-side position markers to assist with intonation during fast transitions. The neck is partially cut at the neck joint for improved playability.

Electronics and Controls

The bass is equipped with Nordstrand Big Break pickups and a custom bridge with a built-in AeroSilk Piezo system designed to emulate the sound of an upright bass. The controls include an active 2-band preamp with a separate tone control for the Piezo pickup.
