Ibanez SRD905F-BTL – 5-String Fretless Electric Bass

The SRD905F-BTL is a 5-string fretless electric bass from Ibanez Bass Workshop, combining traditional SR elements with innovative construction. The body features chambers and is made of Okoume with an Exotic Maple top, contributing to weight and resonance. This bass provides access to both magnetic and piezo-based tonal options.

Fingerboard and Neck

The fretless fingerboard is made of Panga Panga, with bound edges and oval abalone inlays. The neck is a 5-piece Maple/Walnut construction, cut at the neck joint for easier access to the upper register. Fret markers on the fingerboard surface help with intonation during fast shifts.

Electronics and Hardware

The bass is equipped with Nordstrand Big Break pickups at the neck and bridge. The bridge features a custom AeroSilk Piezo system designed to emulate the sound of an upright bass. Controls include an active 2-band preamp and an active tone control for the Piezo pickup.

Comfort and Finish

The top of the body has a slight contour for playing comfort. The bass features black hardware and luminescent side dots for visibility in low light. The finish is Brown Topaz Burst with low gloss.
