Gibson Mary Ford Les Paul Standard – A Tribute to a Timeless Icon
Crafted in honor of one of the most groundbreaking artists of the 20th century, the Mary Ford Les Paul Standard celebrates the legendary guitarist, vocalist, and innovator who helped shape modern music. In partnership with Les Paul, Mary Ford pioneered multi-track recording and overdubbing, selling millions of records in the early 1950s with her unmistakable harmonies, fluid guitar work, and smooth, expressive voice.
Based on a rare one-off Goldtop believed to have been built for Mary in 1958, this special-edition Les Paul captures her influence with unique visual and tonal details. It features a mahogany body with a maple top, finished in a striking Goldtop with a Vintage Cherry back – a rare combination for any Les Paul model. The custom floral pickguard and matching armrest add a distinct aesthetic, echoing the ES-295 styling Mary often favored.
A pair of Burstbucker pickups – a Burstbucker 2 in the neck and a Burstbucker 3 in the bridge – deliver vintage-inspired tones with clarity and dynamic range. A Slim Taper™ mahogany neck, rosewood fretboard, and premium hardware including a Tune-O-Matic bridge and Vintage Deluxe tuners round out a guitar designed to inspire players seeking timeless tone and exceptional playability.
Complete with a Gibson hardshell case, this is more than a guitar – it’s a tribute to a trailblazer whose legacy continues to resonate through generations.
