EarthQuaker Devices Dirt Transmitter - Rancho De La Luna
Artikkelnummer 1092446Fuzz pedal, Fuzz Face-inspired, low-gain silicon transistors, adjustable voltage, wide tonal range, 9V DC
Fuzz pedal with adjustable character and unique transistors
The EarthQuaker Devices Dirt Transmitter is a fuzz pedal developed in collaboration with Rancho De La Luna in Joshua Tree. Based on one of the company’s earliest circuit designs, it has now been updated with modifications that offer greater tonal versatility.
Design and inspiration
The Dirt Transmitter draws from classic Fuzz Face-style circuitry but uses carefully selected low-gain silicon transistors. These provide smooth, warm overtones reminiscent of germanium transistors when overdriven, while retaining the crisp top-end grind typical of silicon-based fuzz designs.
Dynamic range and control
The pedal’s tonal response is shaped by its adjustable power voltage, allowing the character to shift from compressed and gritty to more open and articulate. A wide range of textures can be accessed through simple control adjustments.
