Eve Audio SC205 All Black

The SC205 is a SilverCone two-way system with a 5" woofer. With an extended bass frequency range and impressive sound level, it will easily fill your room with exceptional sound.

This nearfield monitor also comes with convenient threaded screw inserts on the bottom and back. This way, you can mount your SC205 on a standard microphone or speaker stand, or use the back for various wall mounting options.

SMART Button

Power On/Off: Standby Mode

Hold the control for three seconds to put the monitor into Standby mode. The volume will gradually decrease while the LED ring lights up once around the volume control. After that, the LED on the right side will remain dimly lit and the power consumption will decrease to 1 watt.

Volume

The volume can be adjusted by turning the knob. Depending on the LED mode selected, the volume will be displayed as a dim/bright circle or as a dim/bright dot.

Mute

To put the monitor in Mute mode, turn the volume control counterclockwise until you reach the lowest level. When the LED on the left side is dimly lit, Mute mode is activated.

Settings

Press the SMART button once to access the settings menu. Here you can set various filters and the behavior of the LED ring. The LED for the currently active function will flash. Click on the different filters above to get more information about them!

High Filter

The High-Shelf filter helps you adjust frequencies above 3 kHz in 0.5 dB steps. You may need it in the following situations:

• Distance from the speakers: High frequencies are attenuated the further you sit from the speakers. If you are sitting far from the speakers, you may need to boost the high frequencies. If you are close, such as in a desktop setup (about 1 meter or 3 feet away), you may need to attenuate the high frequencies.
• Room Acoustics: In a room with few reflective surfaces ("dead room"), you can boost the high frequencies to create a more balanced sound. If the room has many reflective surfaces, it is recommended to attenuate the high frequencies.

Adjust the High Filter to achieve the best sound quality based on your listening position.

Mid Filter

The Mid Filter is a bell filter centered at 1 kHz. It allows you to boost or attenuate the midrange by up to +/-3 dB in 0.5 dB steps. Here's what to consider:

• Frequency Balance: The midrange is crucial for balancing the lower and upper midrange frequencies. Use the Mid Filter to fine-tune the balance between the fundamental and harmonic frequencies in your music.
• Room Acoustics: The acoustics of your room can affect how the midrange is perceived. Sound energy from the monitor can reflect off walls, floors, and ceilings, altering the sound. Adjust the Mid Filter to compensate for these reflections and achieve a balanced sound.

Mid Filter is available on SC2070, SC3070, SC4070, SC3010 and SC3012.

Desk Filter

The Desk Filter allows you to boost or cut the low midrange in 0.5 dB steps:

• Narrow-Band EQ: Depending on the model, the filter is centered between 160 and 200 Hz. When turned down, it attenuates the low midrange that is often caused by reflections from mixing consoles or similar surfaces. Lower the filter gain to reduce this effect.
• EQ at 80 Hz: When turned up, it boosts the low frequencies and adds more punch to the sound.

Low Filter

The Low-Shelf Filter allows you to boost or cut frequencies below 300 Hz in 0.5 dB steps. Here's when you can use it:

• Attenuate Low Frequencies: If the room acoustics cause an amplification of low frequencies (due to room mode or if the speakers are close to walls), you can reduce them with the Low-Shelf filter.
• Boost Low Frequencies: If the low frequencies are too weak, you can boost them to achieve a balanced frequency response.

Adjust the Low-Shelf filter to correct problems with the low-frequency range caused by room acoustics.

LED

The LED mode determines how the LED ring displays the volume level. There are four modes available:

• Bright Ring: All LEDs up to the selected volume level are brightly lit. As the signal gets louder, the brightly lit ring extends.
• Bright Point: Only the LED corresponding to the selected volume level is brightly lit. As the signal gets louder, the brightly lit dot moves further up.
• Dim Ring: All LEDs up to the selected volume level are dimly lit. As the signal gets louder, the dimly lit ring extends. The LEDs glow brightly for a short time as you adjust the volume.
• Dim Point: Only the LED corresponding to the selected volume level glows dimly. As the signal gets louder, the dimly lit dot moves further up.
